Tamilnadu Special Trains

Chennai, Sept 24: Southern Railway will run the following special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers for Ramzan, Pooja, Deepavali and Christmas festivals during the winter months of October 2007 to February 2008:

1) Madurai – Chennai Egmore – Madurai (Bi-weekly) Specials: T.No. 0632 Madurai – Chennai Egmore Special will leave Madurai at 23.15 hrs. on Sundays & Tuesdays from 2.10.2007 to 10.2.2008 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 09.30 hrs. the next day. T.No. 0631 Chennai Egmore – Madurai Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 22.45 hrs. on Mondays, & Fridays from 5.10.2007 to 11.2.2008 and arrive Madurai at 08.45 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram, Tindivanam, Chengalpattu and Tambaram. T.No. 0632 will stop at Mambalam also.

2) Chennai Egmore – Tuticorin – Chennai Egmore (Weekly) Specials: T.No. 0615 Chennai Egmore – Tuticorin Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 22.45 hrs. on Wednesdays from 3.10.2007 to 6.2.2008 and arrive Tuticorin at 12.15 hrs the next day. T.No. 0616 Tuticorin – Chennai Egmore Special will leave Tuticorin at 15.00 hrs. on Thursdays from 4.10.2007 to 7.2.2008 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 04.30 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti and Vanchi Maniyachchi. T.No. 0616 will stop at Mambalam also.

3) Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil – Chennai Egmore (Weekly) Specials: T.No. 0613 Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 20.15 hrs. on Sundays from 7.10.2007 to 10.2.2008 and arrive Nagercoil at 11.00 hrs. the next day. T.No. 0614 Nagercoil – Chennai Egmore Special will leave Nagercoil at 13.30 hrs. on Mondays from 8.10.2007 to 11.2.2008 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 04.30 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi and Tirunelveli. T.No. 0614 will stop at Mambalam also.

4) Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil – Chennai Egmore (Weekly) Specials: T.No. 0617 Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil Special will leave Chennai Egmore at 19.00 hrs. on Tuesdays from 9.10.2007 to 12.2.2008 and arrive Nagercoil at 08.30 hrs. the next day. T.No. 0618 Nagercoil – Chennai Egmore Special will leave Nagercoil at 13.30 hrs. on Wednesdays from 10.10.2007 to 13.2.2008 and arrive Chennai Egmore at 04.30 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Tindivanam, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Tiruchchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi and Tirunelveli. T.No. 0618 will stop at Mambalam also.

5) Chennai Central – Coimbatore – Chennai Central (Bi-weekly) Specials: T.No. 0625 Chennai Central – Coimbatore Special will leave Chennai Central at 22.20 hrs. on Wednesdays & Fridays from 3.10.2007 to 6.2.2008 and arrive Coimbatore at 08.15 hrs. the next day. T.No.0626 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Special will leave Coimbatore at 23.45 hrs. on Thursdays & Saturdays from 4.10.2007 to 7.2.2008 and arrive Chennai Central at 09.15 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 1 First Class, 10 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur. T.No. 0626 will stop at Perambur also.

6) Chennai Central – Coimbatore – Chennai Central (Weekly) Specials: T.No. 0623 Chennai Central – Coimbatore Special will leave Chennai Central at 22.20 hrs. on Thursdays from 11.10.2007 to 14.2.2008 and arrive Coimbatore at 08.00 hrs. the next day. T.No.0624 Coimbatore – Chennai Central Special will leave Coimbatore at 23.45 hrs. on Fridays from 12.10.2007 to 15.2.2008 and arrive Chennai Central at 06.15 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 12 Sleeper Class, 2 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode and Tiruppur. T. No. 0624 will stop at Perambur also.

7) Chennai Central – Mangalore – Chennai Central (Tri-weekly) Specials: T.No. 0601 Chennai Central – Mangalore Special will leave Chennai Central at 17.00 hrs. on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays from 1.11.2007 to 31.1.2008 and arrive Mangalore at 09.30 hrs. the next day. T.No.0602 Mangalore – Chennai Central Special will leave Mangalore at 16.00 hrs. on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays from 2.11.2007 to 1.2.2008 and arrive Chennai Central at 08.30 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palghat, Ottapalam, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Calicut, Vadagara, Tellicherry, Cannanore, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasargod. T.No. 0602 will stop at Perambur also.

8) Chennai Central – Kottayam – Chennai Central (Weekly) Specials: T.No. 0635 Chennai Central – Kottayam Special will leave Chennai Central at 15.45 hrs. on Tuesdays from 30.10.2007 to 22.1.2008 and arrive Kottayam at 05.45 hrs. the next day. T.No.0636 Kottayam – Chennai Central Special will leave Kottayam at 13.00 hrs. on Wednesdays from 31.10.2007 to 23.1.2008 and arrive Chennai Central at 04.15 hrs. the next day. The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 1 AC 3-tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Palghat, Ottapalam, Trichur, Alwaye and Ernakulam Town. T.No. 0636 will stop at Perambur also.

Advance reservation for the above trains commenced on September 23, a Southern Railway press release says. (Agencies)
