Indian Rail Tours - Facilities At Stations

Mumbai - Veer - Khed - Chiplun - Ratnagiri - Rajapur Road - Sindhudurg - Mapusa Road - Goa - Udupi - Mangalore - Kochi – Thiruvananthapuram

Passenger Amenities Over Konkan Railway:

Konkan Railway extends over the West-Coast of India between Roha station of Central Railway and Kankanadi station of Southern Railway over a distance of 739-kms. There are 49 Crossing stations and 8 Halt stations on Konkan Railway.

Catering:

The normal transit time of an Expense Train over Konkan Railway ranges between 12 to 13 hrs. And Konkan Railway it involves only one or two meals for the passengers. The Express Trains passing over Konkan Railway are provided with pantry Cars with the exception of "Netravati Express", "Matsyagandha Express" and "CSTM-Madgaon Express". Konkan Railway has provided Tea-stalls, Veg. and Non-Veg. Restaurants to serve the travelling public.

STD/ISD PCO Booths At Stations:

Telephone Booth facility for STD/ISD/PCO has been made available at five major stations and further contract for fifteen stations has been awarded. These booths will function shortly. Award of contract for STD/ ISD/ PCO booths has been made in favour of physically handicapped persons in keeping with the railway board’s directive.

Town Booking Agencies / C.B.O:

In order to facilitate travelling public from the localities which are far away from railhead, city booking offices at Panjim & Karwar and town booking offices at Ponda (Goa) & Sawantwadi have been provided. In addition to above contract has been recently finalised to operate Town booking Agencies at six more localities in Goa region.

Facilities at StationComputerised Reservation / Un-Reserved Tickets:
Konkan Railway has been made available Computerised Reservation Tickets facilities through passenger Reservation System of Mumbai, Secundrabad, New Delhi and Chennai, thus making it possible to reserve tickets by trains originating from Central, Western, Northern South Central Railways.

At present Computerised reserved tickets are issued at the following stations

a) Computerised Reservation Tickets:

Madgaon: For trains originating from C.Rly, W.Rly, N.Rly and S.C.Rly.
CBO/PJ: For trains originating from C.Rly, W.Rly, N.Rly and S.C.Rly.
Udupi: For trains originating from S.Rly.

b) Computerised Current Tickets:

For the issue of unreserved tickets, Computerised Current Tickets are being issued at Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kudal, Sawantwadi, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, and Udupi stations.

Sulabh Sauchalaya:

It has been decided to introduce "Pay an Use" toilet facility at important stations over this Railway. However, present at facility has been made available at Madgaon station.
