A Small Trip to Puttaparthi

During September 2002 , I had been on a one day visit to Puttaparthi from Bangalore by 6503/4 SSPN exp . The town Puttaparathi is famous as it is the abode of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It is located in the friendly state of Andhra Pradesh. The station is about 5kms from the town & is named as Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam.

Trip Report
Note: This particular train held the record for the smallest express train on Indian railways ! It had only 3coaches. One 2nd class chair car , One general class & One SLR (guard coach).
But later 2 more 2nd class chair car coaches were added & both were fully reserved. This train was hauled by a single KJM WDM2 & it is just an amazing experience how the driver 'plays' with this train.
A sad thing to note is that , this train has been cancelled since November,2002.
Now , that the 15km SSPN-Dharmavaram line has been inaugurated , several main line long distance trains are being sent through SSPN.
