My Visit to Udaipur

My recent visit was to Udaipur. The city of traditional culture and ancient monuments. The trip started off with train's journey and we reached the destination by morning. A traveler could find many reasons to visit the place as one can see many temples and get to know about their hundreds of years back history and do a good shopping in traditional market with Daal-Bati Churma as famous dish amongst the cuisines. The Lord Krishna's temple is a pretty crowded but good to see place with the Meerabai's Charkha and many other small models kept there. The traditional market there have quiet a good collection of things at a reasonable price. You can get a key ring for five rupees to Rajasthani Dresses from 100 onwards.

Then temples like one of Lord Buddha's temple which is 625 years old and has great history with fabulous carving on the wall and offering of prayers. Then there is Eklingeshwara with 101 Shivlinga and many more. There is also Maharana Pratap's Museum which tells the tale of courage and valour of the great personality with a small show arranged for visitors. For kids and even adults, boating is available.

One can enjoy the festivals and fairs, the greenery of various parks, the hills and rocks for climbing fun. I enjoyed the place much within the three days trip but it really needs a week or two to see the beauty and the culture of the place. Not to forget Jal Mahal, that is the most mystical and more magical that it seems to be. It is surrounded by water every where and only boats to reach to it. It is simple amazing and a must to visit place.
